Steps for Conducting Leadership Analysis by Individual:
If a leader wants to conduct leadership analysis for himself, he needs to follow the following steps- Take a journal and make a list of your feelings, ideas, opinions, and leadership practices. Record the actions that you take as a leader and also note the reason or motivation for taking these actions. Note down your personal opinion and feeling about the decision you have taken. All this information should be succinct but must be enough for understanding your action and then making an analysis.
- The next important step for making an analysis is choosing a leadership style that is suitable and appropriate for you. For choosing the right leadership style you have to first make yourself familiar with different leadership styles. Research how you can identify the right leadership style for yourself, what goes into making a leadership style, and what kinds of leadership styles are useful and ineffective.
- Briefly describe your current leadership style and your responsibilities. Note down what leadership skills you have and which ones you need to learn and adopt. You can also take feedback from others in this regard.
- Briefly describe the characteristics that make you a leader and also mention what leadership style you have in a different situation and based on which factors.
- Mention your source of inspiration or the leaders who influence you. Mention how your leadership style affects your philosophy about leadership. Write your opinion about a good leader and his qualities. Now honestly write your view about whether the leadership philosophy you will us right to make you a successful leader in your current situation and your current responsibilities.
- Clarify what is the role of your feelings in leadership dependent on your leadership style. Examine your character and qualities and how these have affected your leadership. Talk about how your activities, reasoning, and sentiments mirror your leadership style in the range of abilities segment. Record for any distinctions you see. Clarify how your leadership activities have or have not been assisting you with satisfying your work's obligations. 7. Now based on the above analysis make recommendations. Write down the deficiencies or the skills and qualities you lack. Give the reason for recovering these deficiencies and weaknesses. Make your goals and action plan for achieving those goals.
